Conde Nast Traveller Magazine Feature

We’re famous again!

There’s absolutely nothing in the world that we like more than seeing our names in print; every time it happens we get so ridiculously excited, especially if it’s in one of the national publications. That’s why this month we were super thrilled to be featured in Conde Nast Traveller – it may only be a small mention, but it’s in there and we’re going to shout about it!

Conde Nast Traveller

Conde Nast Traveller is the British arm of the larger publication, Conde Nast Traveler, a luxury and lifestyle travel magazine published worldwide by the Conde Nast publishing company. The original Conde Nast Traveler magazine (note the difference in spelling here; it’s done on purpose and is not just because we can’t spell!) was first established in 1987 by founder and editor Sir Harold Evans, who coined the motto ‘Truth in Travel’. Focussing on literary journalism and serious news reporting from around the globe, the founding ethos of the magazine was that travel industry freebies would never be accepted by the magazine or its journalists, and hence their reporting could be trusted as honest and unbiased.

Ten years later, in 1997, an entirely separate UK edition of the magazine – differentiated thanks to the different spelling of traveller/traveler – was set up using the same brand ethos. Published from Vogue House in Hanover Square, Mayfair, London, Conde Nast Traveller is a luxury travel magazine that is aimed at the more upmarket and independent traveller. With a circulation figure of over 78,000, this British version of the magazine is mostly made up of original content, although occasionally some features from the US magazine are also published, with a little repackaging for the UK audience.

Over the last 20 years, under the slogan ‘At Home In The World’, the Conde Nast Traveller brand, featuring both the magazine and the associated website, has gone from strength to strength and is now a key player in both the UK’s magazine industry and the global travel industry. In addition to featuring many useful guides for travellers everywhere, particularly through their Gold List – the definitive list of the world’s best hotels, published annually – the magazine also hosts several key industry awards, such as the Travel Awards.

Basically, what we’re trying to say, is that Conde Nast Traveller a big name – and they chose to feature little old us in their latest edition.

The Latest Edition

And so that brings us nicely to the latest edition of Conde Nast Traveller, which – funnily enough – is devoted mainly to the 2017 Gold List, as mentioned above. The January/February 2017 edition is a special double issue featuring the world’s most exceptional hotels and classic destinations, along with the usual mix of journalistic articles and travel recommendations.

Now, just in case you’re wondering, obviously Kidult and Co do not feature as one of the world’s best hotels – although we do make a mean fry up if you want to come and stay at our houses? No, in fact our little feature is only tiny, but we’re firm believers in the principle that the best things come in small packages, so we’re not put off at all by our diminutive little appearance. In fact, we think it’s awesome!

You can take a look here and tell us what you think;

As you can see (if you’ve got your glasses on!) Kidult and Co features in that little picture at the bottom left, number 36, and the associated write up about us states;

A British designed clothing and lifestyle brand for little ones with attitude. New kids on the block Kidult and Co’s collection provides an edgy alternative, featuring a monochrome colour palette and gender-neutral designs, they dare you to find this mix of quality and style anywhere else on the market.

Now you can’t say fairer than that, can you?!? It’s a fabulous little write up that puts Kidult and Co right in front of the type of audience we want to be attracting and, best of all, we did it without bribery; it’s a genuine recommendation made by people who have experienced our brand and the company ethos and find it worthy of recommendation.

We literally couldn’t ask for better, so thanks so much for the mention Conde Nast, it means the world.

Get In Touch

And although this little feature may only be small, we are certainly not underestimating its mighty power. In fact, this feature has already led to us being noticed by other magazines and publications, and in the coming weeks you’ll hopefully be seeing our name in even more places. Obviously, we’ll tell you all about them as and when they happen.

And if you’d like to speak to Kidult and Co about the work we’re doing – or if you’d like to feature us in your own publication – then please do get in touch with us today and we’ll be happy to help you out.
