Kidult and Co Featured In CWB Magazine

Our Feature in CWB Magazine

We’re famous again!

One of the great things about the industry we’re in is that people want to feature us in their magazines, and even though we’ve been in a few of them now, we still get ridiculously excited each time we see our name in print. And whilst each and every time a magazine honours us with a feature, we always feel incredibly privileged, this time is possibly a little bit extra special, as it’s an industry magazine that will hopefully lead to bigger and better things for Kidult and Co.

CWB Magazine

Published six times a year and distributed to approx. 3,500 independent retailers, brands and agents throughout the UK and Ireland, Childrenswear Buyer magazine is the UK’s only magazine, dedicated exclusively to the childrenswear industry, which serves the entire sector.

CWB magazine is co-owned by the National Childrenswear Association (NCWA), a voice piece organisation that ensures its members have a say in their industry and can build their brands in a mutually beneficial way. Established more than 70 years ago, the NCWA’s membership is made up of UK retailers, distributors, suppliers, agents and manufactures, as well as an associate membership arm devoted to similar organisations that aren’t based in the UK, providing a local yet globally relevant platform for the childrenswear sector. The NCWA is central to the childrenswear industry and provides everything from advice to its members to lobbying on the industry’s behalf, and everything in between.

Supporting the work of the NCWA, CWB magazine describe themselves thus;

“CWB brings its readers the inside story on the childrenswear trade, across the UK and overseas. Featuring
comprehensive product information, alongside coverage of important industry news, key business issues and hot retail ideas, CWB is the essential magazine for every buyer of branded childrenswear – and the essential choice of any brand wanting to get its message across to the people who matter.”

They Mentioned Us!

But obviously, the best thing about CWB magazine is not the great work they do all year round promoting and protecting the UK childrenswear sector, but it’s the fact that they recently featured us! Well, why wouldn’t they?!

Yep, that’s right, in the most recent November/December Issue, no. 103, published on 1st December 2016, in their brand guide, which starts on Page 22, you can find yours truly! The sections is actually dedicated to gender neutral clothing and we’re up there with some big names and well-known brands from the world of kid’s clothing.

The little bit about us states that;

“Established in 2015 by three friends, Kidult & Co is a British-designed unisex clothing and lifestyle brand for 0-6 years. A simple monochrome colour palette is combined with gender-neutral designs across short and long sleeved T-shirts, bodysuits, hats, jumpers and bibs.

Statement T-shirts are key to the offer, with the a/w 16 collection including a ‘When I Grow Up’ design to encourage kids to follow their dreams and be who they want to be when they grow up, regardless of gender. Kidult & Co supports Action for Children, a UK children’s charity that mirrors the brand’s ethos that every child should be given the same opportunity in life. A donation to the charity is made from the sale of every Kidult & Co ‘Equality’ T-shirt. Wholesale prices on request.”

OK, it’s not a double page spread, but for a new little brand like us to get a write up like that in a national magazine is pretty good going, so we’re chuffed to bits.

Onwards and Upwards

And of course, the best part about being featured in magazines like this is the things this level of publicity then leads on to. Inevitably, that little piece will already have been read by several hundreds – if not thousands – of people who work for, or within, the children’s clothing sector, either as creators and manufacturers or as buyers and retailers, so our little clothing line, handmade in Rossendale, is slowly making its way onto the national stage.

Already, we’ve had the odd lead and enquiry follow on from this feature, and we can’t wait to see what else comes of it. After all, no publicity is bad publicity, so good publicity is awesome! (OK, we might have modified that saying slightly!)
